      Vincent J. Bollon Affiliate Leadership Training Summit 

      January 26th - 28th, 2014 

      The Vincent J. Bollon Affiliate Leadership Training Summit (ALTS) is the IAFF’s foremost educational conference and offers a wide selection of workshops designed to help affiliate leaders be more effective in their roles and to help build their local unions.

      Through the knowledge they gain during ALTS, affiliate leaders can learn valuable information on how to run their local unions.  ALTS offers affiliate leaders the knowledge, skills and resources they need to strengthen their unions, ensuring a better, safer and more effective fire service.

      Operation Warm 2013!! LPFFA gave every student of Guadalupe Elementary a coat of their very own. 275 coats were handed out by the memebers of LPFFA, Auxillary to LPFFA and Lubbock Fire Rescue. Big thanks to everyone that showed up and helped out!

      4 Shift was called out to 218 Washington St on 8:15am April 13th for a reported structure fire. Battalion 1 had heavy smoke in a 2 1/2 frame 100 year old Queen Anne style building, upon arrival. Two handlines were initially deployed, with the truck going to the roof.  Mohegan Tribal FD stretched a third line and the fire quickly went to three alarms.

Jessie was one of twenty children killed in the Sandy Hook School shooting. The playground is being built as part of the Sandy Ground Project. Tickets are $50 and includes live music by the Highland Rovers, drinks, food, etc.

      The State of Maine Forest Service has begun to issue the fire danger class days. The classes range from low to high and what the State issues for a class day dictates the rules you have to follow to burn within the Town of Wells.  Class 1 and 2 days are low. You can get a permit and are allowed to burn from 9am to 10pm.
